“Go for it,” I would
say.
“Tell her you love her.
Write her a song, a poem, a story. Bring her flowers. Be persistent. Tell her
all the things you love about her and how she makes you feel.
“Hold nothing back!”
When the inevitable
heartache comes, but not a moment before, I will tell him this:
“Love is always worth
the heartache.
“Do something with the
pain. Use it up, get it out.
“Write another poem
about how you feel, write a song or a story. They will probably be better than
the ones you wrote when you were in love anyway.
“Heartache is a painful,
but necessary, part of living life to the fullest.
“Rejoice in love and
enjoy the heartache.
“I know I’m getting
carried away here, darling, but you’ll thank me one day.
“Always love and love
being in love. Love the most you can and never, ever be afraid of it.”
The same advice applies
if it’s a boy he loves.
